Armstrong Creek Outfitters in their first year of operation is offering fall bear hunts at a special rate! We have been conducting a management program for the past three years, and it is now time to harvest some nice bears. With over 5000 trail cam pictures from the last three months of 2007 and over 3000 since April of 2008, you will be amazed. Some of the bears photographed are estimated at over 450lbs. and possibly a state record bear. You should have no problem harvesting your trophy.

All hunts will be conducted from a two person ladder stand 15ft. high, with a guide if you prefer. All stand hunting done with gun or bow. WE DO NOT allow hunting with dogs on our property, but the adjoining national forest does. If you're a first time bear hunter we suggest you hunt with a guide, a bear size is hard to judge if you are not used to seeing them and know what to look for. We do not want to harvest an animal less than 100lbs if possible. Coyotes are free if you want to shoot them, and we would appreciate it.

Your hunt will start by arriving the afternoon before, to sight your gun and bow if needed, and get settled in to the secluded, rustic mountain cabin. The next morning, after a light breakfast, guide will take you to the stand around 5:30am. With a bag lunch, we suggest you sit all day, but that is up to you. You will have a radio to call whenever you want to come out or for when you make a kill. That night there will be a home cooked meal served when everyone gets back into camp. The same will apply for all three days. One Bear Per Person Only!! That is the law, and we strictly enforce all NC STATE LAWS AND REGULATIONS. It will be a hunt you won't forget. Chances are you will see at least 5 or more different bears a day. Your longest shot will be no more than 50 yd's. You will need scent lok clothing or plenty of coverup scent spray. We only take 2 people per hunt, only 1 hunt per week to manage the bear properly, so space and time is very limited. If you kill the first day, we also have 1/4 mile of private trout waters on Armstrong Creek that has also been under a management program for 3 years.

You Are Also Welcome To Fly Fish

Catch and release only. You may go on down or up stream which is stocked waters and fish also, and keep your catch. Other arrangements can be made, if you want to take some trout home to eat or maybe a 30", 10lb trout to put on your wall, off the property. Armstrong Outfitters will do everything we can to see that you have a great, unforgettable hunting trip.

So you better hurry and book today!!
